This is a brilliant concept: Cyrano de Bergerac updated to the Great War, with a male love triangle to echo the experience of the war poets. Westcliff Boys deliver a sensitive, heartfelt production- and it's in rhyme. The leads are strong, especially Cyrano, who gives nuance to his heroic poet. I was confused by odd lighting which did not seem to be linked to this play. I was slightly disappointed with the final scenes as a twenty-year jump was a great challenge for the cast. The confidence singing and moving by all the cast kept the audience spellbound.
