Though I'd heard this was not Shakespeare's best (by far), this production knocked me out! Titus' (Gary Ross)pain and grief at his daughter's mutilation; Lavinia's (Clare Francis) heartbreaking downfall had me in tears and had me willing them on to revenge themselves on the glitteringly cold and manipulative Tamora (Libby Machin). The violence was graphic, yet never gratuitous. My only criticism is that it could have defined its setting more precisely. Sheffi
